Who we are

Who we are

Beautiful Beginnings Outreach Relief (BBOR) is a non-political, non-profit company limited by guarantee, registered with PACRA in Zambia since 1st March 2017. We provide a platform for orphaned and vulnerable children to receive their basic human rights — being a voice for them during their darkest hour and advocating for a better tomorrow and a promising future.

Losing a parent can make education, shelter, nutritious meals and a secure future feel like an impossible dream. That is why caring for the orphan is a responsibility that falls on all of us. Who could be more deserving of our help than a child who has no one?

In their own words

Lives changed at BBOR

Our graduates are proof that your support never goes to waste.

I joined BBOR at four years old and Sister Jameelah has been with me from primary to tertiary education. Without BBOR, life would have been very hard — girls are so vulnerable. To donors: I am an example that your donations do not go in vain.

I met Jameelah when I was 15 and was welcomed with open arms. I was a difficult child, but she showered me with love and told me never to give up. Today I help run BBOR’s work. Invest your time, talent and resources in these children.

Why it matters

Why our work matters

Children in Zambia face a high risk of social exclusion and exploitation because of deep poverty and the impact of HIV/AIDS. In many homes a child has become the head of the household, caring for younger siblings. Many come from families living on less than $1.25 a day and are at risk of becoming “social orphans” — left to fend for themselves.

Rising rentals and a tough economy mean we have had to place children on a waiting list. Your support — big or small — keeps children fed, schooled and safe, and helps us build a permanent home for 350 children.

What we’re building next

With your help, these plans become reality, in sha Allah.

Build a permanent orphanage

Six dormitories, two kitchens, offices, a study hall, recreation hall, staff housing and a Masjid — a home for up to 350 children on our 2 acres.

175 bunk beds & bedding

Metal bunk beds, mattresses, pillows and blankets for every child.

Autism early intervention

ABA, speech and nutritional therapy plus guidance for parents of neglected children with autism.

Reliable transport

Three Rosa buses and one Canter to move children safely to school and activities.

Homes for widows & disabled

Land and humble homes for the mothers of children on our programme.

Daily needs

Food stuffs, washing powder, hygiene items, bedding and mosquito nets.
